Stewart R. Albertson, the youngest of three children, grew up in Riverside, California where he attended La Sierra Elementary, La Sierra Junior High, and La Sierra Academy. Soon after graduating, Stewart joined the United States Army in July 1992 where he began five months of basic training, first at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and then to advanced training at Fort Bliss, Texas. After finishing basic and advanced training, Stewart went on to Fort Benning, Georgia for Airborne School.
Upon completion of his training Stewart was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division in South Korea, Camp Casey where he spent one year soldiering near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), which is located between North Korea's and South Korea's 38th parallel. After finishing his tour in South Korea, Stewart was assigned to the U.S. Army's elite 82nd Airborne Division where he served as a paratrooper for over two years.
After Stewart’s honorable discharge from the United States Army, he attended Southwestern Adventist University where he studied theology and graduated magna cum laude in May 1999. After graduating, Stewart was accepted into law school in New Orleans at Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate in law in 2002. Finally, Stewart spent his final year of education at the Georgetown University Law Center where he specialized in international tax law, corporate tax law, partnership taxation, and taxation of financial derivatives while earning an LL.M. in tax law.
Stewart's hobbies include, P90X, competing in triathlons, playing chess, reading non-fiction, and watching sports of all types.
