[Music] And it's Keith Davidson at Albertson and Davidson in this video we're going to discuss how to distribute trust assets when a trustee is ready to make a distribution to the beneficiary there's various ways that the assets can be distributed out depending on the type of assets that you're dealing with in the case of real estate for example the trustee simply has to file a deed where they list themselves as the grantor and the beneficiary receiving the house would be listed as the grantee or if there's multiple beneficiaries you list all of them as the grantee that deed gets filed and the trust has now distributed the real property if you're dealing with stocks and bonds and those sort of things the trustee can either sell everything liquidated into cash and make a distribution of cash to the beneficiaries or the trustee can ask the beneficiaries to open up their own brokerage account and just transfer the items in kind so if you have a hundred shares of Apple in the trust the trustee can just distribute the 100 shares of Apple out to the trust beneficiary and the trust beneficiary can put it in their own personal brokerage account most of the time if you're liquidating assets like getting in life insurance payouts and those type of assets the trustee can just receive the cash and make a distribution of cash either by check or wire transfer out to the trust beneficiary and with tangible personal property so these are things like jewelry artwork furniture cars all of that really should be inventoried by the trustees make a list of everything there and then the trustee can discuss with the trust beneficiaries who wants what and the beneficiaries can come and pick up those items so the distribution of assets can be done Avera in various ways to the trust beneficiaries depending on the type of assets that you're managing.
