Does contingency mean if I don't win my case I get to walk away without having to pay well at our firm it does and so you have to be careful because every firm is a little different and some fur you have to look at the contract that the firm wants you to sign so with our firm when we hire when we were hired on contingency we're going to be paid a percentage of what we were cover for you and we're gonna be reimbursed for our cost but only if we get a recovery so we pay for all the costs out of our own pocket and at the end of the day if we don't get a recovery then you don't pay a dime would you agree with that story yeah and I think that's the fair way to do contingency there is a premium for the contingency fee and that is you got to win and you pay a premium as a client for that the lawyer takes the risk on of not getting paid at all if they're not successful in the case and it's a great incentive for lawyers because obviously we want to be paid for what we do and so we want to work hard for the client to make sure we get a recovery but at our firm contingency does mean that if you receive nothing then you'll pay nothing including no costs right including no costs yeah Albertson and Davidson is here to help you fight for your inheritance check out Al Dave law comm for our complete library of helpful legal videos and articles from your favorite California trusts and we'll litigation law firm Albertson and Davidson LLP.
