[Music] Hi this is Stuart Albertson with Albertson and Davidson I want to talk to you about professional trustees fees and this is different than lay trustee fees this is where a brother or sister or somebody else in the family is a trustee that's all a trustee that's not a professional trustee a professional trustee is generally a large bank or it's a large company that holds themselves out as professional trustees the question is what is the reasonable fee that they should be charging for trust administration services and the general answer is it's generally around 1% of the trust assets so so each year that goes by the trustee will likely be entitled to take 1% of the total trust portfolio now keep in mind that there's a lot of real property in the trust that needs to be managed lots of rental properties apartment complexes and so forth it's gonna be more than 1% it shouldn't be a whole lot more than that it'll likely be 1.5 percent or so of the trust assets I've seen it as high as 2% but that's a rare case so this is just a general guide to professional trustees fees generally 1% sometimes as high as 2% albertson and Davidson is here to help you fight for your inheritance check out Al Dave law comm for our complete library of helpful legal videos and articles from your favorite California trust and we'll litigation law firm Albertson and Davidson LLP.
